Emily Brokaw brings a deep passion for nurturing excellence in both students and educators and a desire to give back to the communities that raised her. A proud legacy graduate of Dallas ISD, her experiences throughout her education at Martha Turner Reilly, Travis Tag and Irma Rangel YWLS instilled in her a deep belief in the power of public education and a lifelong love of learning.

Her foundation as an educator began in the classroom, where she taught World Geography, US History, AP US History and OnRamps US History at Hillcrest High School and Molina High School. These experiences shaped her belief in the power of student voice, inquiry, and belonging. Emily holds a Master's in the Art of Teaching from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Master's in Urban Educational Leadership from SMU.

Emily most recently served as an Assistant Principal at North Lake Early College High School, where she established campus partnerships for student enrichment, partnered with teachers to improve student learning and helped students achieve their dream of graduating with their high school diploma and associate's degree.
Prior to that, she served as a campus coordinator at Molina High School designing and leading professional learning and creating school wide systems to reate a sense of belonging amongst students and support new teachers.

Outside of work Emily enjoys connecting with family and friends and her dog Scout, picking up new hobbies including cooking, baking and reading, and traveling to gain new experiences and memories.

Emily is honored to join the Sudie Williams Talented and Gifted Academy team.
She is committed to sustaining the Sudie legacy of success by ensuring every student experiences a challenging and enriching education every day, cultivating a collaborative and celebratory school culture and partnering with the Sudie community.
